The Island of Noepe, also known as Martha's Vineyard which is located off the coast of Cape Cod Massachusetts, is richly bathed in a history that goes back thousands of years. On the Western part of the island live the Original People known as the Aquinnah Wampanoag. They carry the knowledge, medicine, stories and the traditions of their land. Beverly Wright, who is presently a board member of the Aquinnah Cultural Center, and served as chairperson of the of the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head/Aquinnah from 1991 to 2005 will share the history of the Aquinnah and talk about the Aquinnah Cultural Center. The center was created to preserve, interpret, and document the Aquinnah Wampanoag self-defined history, culture and contributions past, present and future.
