Reverend Kevin Annett, Friends and Relatives of the Disappeared and Residential School survivors have been speaking out for many years about the horrible things that happened to children at the Canadian Residential Schools. Between 1889 and 1996 Indigenous First Nation children were forcibly removed from their homes and placed in Residential Schools for their ‘Education’ by the Nuns, Priests and Officials of the Canadian Anglican Church and The Catholic Church. They were aided by the Government of Canada and it’s officials. At least 50,000 died in those Schools, and many more died in the aftermath of the trauma they endured. The Pope, the Catholic church, Anglican and other denominations and countries must take responsibility for the beatings, rapes and murders that happened in residential schools for over a hundred years. Recently, Reverend Annett and a delegation from several Canadian Reserves traveled to Rome to continue their demand for the return of the remains of children who died while in those schools. People from Germany, England, Ireland, and other parts of the world who endured some of the same atrocities have joined forces and formed a coalition. Join us as Reverend Annett updates us on the latest issues dealing with this world wide tragedy.
