Cynthia Slater has been involved in her community for many years.  She currently holds the title of President of the Daytona Beach Branch of the NAACP; a title that she has held since 2001.  She served as 1st Vice President of the Daytona Beach NAACP (1998-2000) under the leadership of her mentor; Commissioner and NAACP President Charles W. Cherry, Sr.  Cynthia served as 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Vice President for the Florida State Conference NAACP for during a 14-year span; and also served as Area Director and Chair of the Civic Engagement Committee for the Florida State Conference NAACP.  Cynthia serves on the Board of Directors for the Conklin Center for the Multi-Handicapped Blind and is very active in her church, serving as a member of the Board of Stewards, Women’s Missionary Society, Lay Organization, and the Usher Board.
