Minda Dentler is a mother, insurance professional, athlete, speaker and health advocate. Despite her legs being paralyzed from contracting polio as a baby in India, Minda became the first female wheelchair athlete to complete the Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii in October 2013. This accomplishment led her to be an ESPN ESPY (Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly) Award Nominee for Best Female Athlete with a Disability. Through Minda's achievements as an endurance athlete and speaking engagements, Minda is committed to inspiring people with and without disabilities to set and achieve their goals. Minda has been featured on CNN, NBC, Time, CCTV America, and Glamour. She has written for Huffington Post and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation – advocating for polio eradication, the disease that has impacted her. Most recently, Minda went to India in November 2015 to participate in national immunization day activities with Rotary International.She earned an MBA in Finance and Marketing from Baruch College – The City University of New York (CUNY) and a BA in Management Information Systems from the University of Washington. She currently resides in New York City, NY with her husband and daughter.
