Charley Koontz became the unlikeliest of heroes when he enrolled in the second season of the Emmy Award-winning NBC sitcom COMMUNITY.  The primetime series centers on a group of students at fictional Greendale Community College and stars Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, and Chevy Chase.

As Greendale’s oft-beleaguered student “Fat Neil,” Koontz has tackled the issue of bullying and difference with dignity, heart and humor, earning him a legion of fans in the process.

It has all happened pretty fast for Charley.

Just six months after graduating from college in real-life, Charley was tapped for a role in Quentin Dupieux’s indie feature RUBBER.  With the film’s protagonist being a tire, it seemed a long shot that this could be traction for Charley’s acting career.  But when the young actor found himself at the 2010 Cannes International Film Festival where RUBBER burned up the screen to critical acclaim, it was both heady and wildly encouraging.

Memorable stints on Teen Nick’s GIGANTIC and NBC’s PERFECT COUPLES quickly led to COMMUNITY and a guest-starring role on NBC’s AWAKE.  Upcoming project includes the TV film WORKER’S COMP, and the feature films THE ROAD TO JUAREZ and WRONG.
