Chancelier “Xero” Skidmore is a poet, educator, musician, and organizer from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He has represented Baton Rouge at the National Poetry Slam from 2000 to 2010, serving both a coach and team member.  He has been ranked twice among the top five slam poets in the United States through that competition (4th in 2002 and 4th in 2004) In 2010 he ranked 3rd at the Individual World Poetry Slam Festival and in 2013 he ranked 1st, sharing the championship in a tie with Ed Mabrey.  He has facilitated writing workshops for youth and adults in Louisiana and throughout the country over the past ten years.
