Though the traditional concept of Western ideology associates detachments with aloofness, unavailability and even callousness, the more meaningful results of detachment are far more inspiring and insightful than we may consider at first blush. To be detached, means to be non resistant to what occurs around us, to be in a state of non reactive acceptance of what other peoples reactions or behaviors are, and ultimately how we are able to independently perceive our outer circumstances juxtaposed against our inner truth which is where ultimate fulfillment in our existence lies. Detachment also means acceptance for all that is. Because as we begin to see our being as autonomous ironically we are then able to see the depth of our existences as being inextricable intertwined with all other beings and existences. That is the ironies of detachment. It creates a healthy knowing of your inner truth, which of course is that you are infinite possibilities of consciousness, as God is, and you are on your journey towards knowing that, and no longer makes your conditions, people or circumstances surrounding you qualify that truth. You can enjoy or dislike what occurs but you are no longer valued by it, or valuing it.
