Call to the Bullpen: Offseason 1.3

The Indians have been busy this past week as they have made key acquisitions improving the starting rotation and bullpen and Jake Dungan and guest host Michael Hattery are here to discuss them.

First, the Tribe found their veteran closer in John Axford, whom they signed to a 1-year deal earlier this week. Will he manage to return to form with his new club? Also, the Indians signed veteran starter Shaun Marcum to a minor league contract with a spring training invite as well as acquiring left-handed reliever Josh Outman from Colorado in exchange for Drew Stubbs. How would you rate the moves made so far by the Indians and what else would you like to see them do?

In other MLB news, the Royals have filled a major hole at second base with Omar Infante, whom they signed to a 4-year deal. Also, the Indians' acquisition of Axford seems to have gotten things moving on the closer market as Joaquin Benoit and Grant Balfour have signed with the Padres and Orioles, respectively.
