Power and Purpose: Don't Get So Busy That You Forget God

Now as they went on their way, he entered a certain village, where a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home. She had a sister named Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to what he was saying. 0But Martha was distracted by her many tasks; so she came to him and asked, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself? Tell her then to help me.” But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and distracted by many things; there is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part, which will not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10:38-42)

There are who are working in ministry, or in their own business and the work overshadows the worship experience, or causes the neglect of hearing from God.  We can get distracted by the work of the ministry and our business and it’s not that we don’t love God or honor Him, but we busy ourselves so much that we forget we need to worship… we need to sit down… we need to hear what God is saying to us!

POWER AND PURPOSE AFFIRMATION:

I won’t allow distractions to overshadow my honoring and hearing from God as I walk in my purpose.
