In American society people may not worship idol gods of gold, bronze, wood, silver, and stone. But they do worship actors/actresses, singers, musicians, news anchors, athletes, politicians, models, and pastors are worshiped. These individuals develop faithful followers who follow every word and move they make. Psychologist have called this Celebrity Worship Syndrome, in which they define it as an obsessive-addictive disorder in which a person becomes overly involved with the details of a celebrity's personal life. However, The Word of G-d calls this idolatry, anything that you put before G-d or more obsessed with than Him, is the sin of idolatry. In this episode we will examine modern day idolatry that is ingrained into American society. In part two we will examine the spiritual side fueling celebrity worship.
