White rapper walks from Chicago to Compton to raise awareness for the power of after school education in tough communities. #StraightInttaCompton People all over the world are familiar with NWA and the Straight Outta Compton movement from the late 80's and early 90's. Now, in 2016 let's rally together around the same community to build a bright and prosperous future for every single child of Compton. In doing so, we can set a paradigm for how to level the playing field between America's communities of affluence and those affected by immense poverty & gang violence. On November 1st, Kirk Sells, aka White Chedda, will begin a trans-continental walk to raise funds for Compton Raps, a music & entrepreneurship program where students unite after the bell to build their own rap label ~ facebook.com/comptonraps The journey will commence in conjunction with the release of Straight Intta Compton, a book about Kirk's experiences teaching rap at Centennial High School (Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar) with an emphasis on how non-profit synergy is critical to healing America's tough communities. No more talk. It's time to take an individualized & organized interest in the education, safety & well-being of every single child in America. We have the technology. We have the resources. All that's left is to unify our energy & walk the walk!
