Now that the NBA Finals are in the books and the Golden State Warriors are champions, it is time for some reflection on what happened ... and what might happen down the road.

Specifically, is David Blatt safe in Cleveland moving forward?

I was at Quicken Loans Arena on Tuesday night for the clincher, and a poerson I know and trust told me there was a considerable amount of head-scratching within the organization over Blatt's Game 5 decision to play Timofey Mozgov only 10 minutes. If you recall, Blatt ran several plays for Mozgov coming out of the gate, the Warriors sent a second defender at him, and Mozgov acted as though he had never been double-teamed in his life ... which is probably the case.

So Blatt yanked Mozgov and never really went back to him, and the second-best player on the Cavs went from having 29 points in Game 4 to having zero in Game 5 as the Cavs were on their way from turning a 2-1 series lead into three straight defeats.

As coaching gaffes go, there haven't been many that big since ... you tell me.

And what my source told me was that there were rumblings in the Cavs organization that the team might be better off having Tyronn Lue slide over from the lead assistant spot to take over the head coaching role from Blatt.

When might that happen?

It'd be a p.r. fiasco for the Cavs to make that kind of a move over the summer. But if they come out of the gate as slow next season as they did this season, Blatt will not be given a free pass. That was one of the topics of discussion with Nick Kayal in this interview with Bleacher Report Radio:
