Mou is joined by Dr. Shannon Chavez, PsyD  Psychologist and Sexologist for Women's Health at SHE (Sexual Health Experts) in Gilbert, Arizona (near Phoenix) to discuss female sexual issues including contraception, menopause symptoms, vaginal dryness, low libido, sexual chemistry, painful intercourse, and relationships.

 

Dr. Shannon Chavez is a Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Sexologist with a certification in the diagnosis and treatment of sexual disorders. Dr. Chavez holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Dr. Chavez began her training in community mental health providing individual, couples and group therapy. She has worked as a counselor for the US Veterans Advance Women’s Program treating issues including military sexual trauma, PTSD, health issues, and chronic mental illness. She has also worked in a residential drug and alcohol facility specializing in the holistic treatment of dual diagnosis and the treatment-resistant addict.

Dr. Chavez completed her Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the Institute for Sexual Health in Beverly Hills, California where she worked with individuals and couples dealing with sexual compulsivity and issues regarding sexual health. She provided treatment for intensive outpatient programs as well as launching a program specific to women’s sexual health including tracks for female sexual compulsive behavior and female sexual dysfunctions.
