What about those who don't fit in?

A new perspective on the issues that dropouts face. over 8300 students drop out of school everyday.

I've had a listener to my send me a message saying that we should be balanced and look at both sides of the argument, stating that some students need school in order to achieve their goals of get their dream job.

My response was simply that there is no argument.  The purpose of my show is to reach out to those who don't fit in with in the current education/employment paradigm.

What about the kid who doesn't really know what they want to do with their life, but is certain they do not like school or cannot stand it for whatever readson.  It may not be that they are incapable of excelling at school, but simply that they lack the interest, motivation or may have had some negative experiences with schooling, like most of us.

Where does this student turn once they decide to drop out of school?

My show's purpose if to reach out and restore their confidence by reminding them that school is just one of many answers to an productive and fulfilled life.
