The U.S. Constitution affords all it's citizens with Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, yet what good are rights that are unable to be enforced or protected? So many citizens are ignorant of the most basic guarantees afforded to them as a citizen subjecting them to the whims of the state. In prison it's much worse because the those rights guaranteed to free citizens are limited. Add to that legal groups are reluctant to involve themselves in actions involving prisoners. As a result prisoners often times are left unprotected. However its the men and women inside the system who advocate for their fellow prisoners without compensation or fan fair.
