Since the writings of Aristotle and Plato, music has been known to affect health and behavior. According to the American Music Therapy Association, in the 20th Century, wounded World War I and II veterans made notable health improvements after listening to visiting musicians, initiating what we know as music therapy. Music has long been used to entertain, invoke emotion, rally individuals to a cause and provide healing, but can music provide a direct link to communication with God? Spiritual life coach and author Stephen Edwards says music is not only healing for the body but also healing for the soul as stated in his book Communion-cating with God: How to Have a Personal Connection and Relationship with Your Creator. Stephen holds a doctorate in spiritual counseling from the University of Metaphysics. He resides in Sarasota, Fla. Stephen is also the author of Heaven Can’t Wait and Your Miracle Life, Life Transformation Beyond Belief. He has been an active volunteer with organizations like the Salvation Army, children’s homes in San Francisco, CA and Tampa, FL, and the homeless in San Diego, CA. www.seemiracles.com
