So many single parents say they have to do the job of two people, but we all know we can only be one person. Should our kids have mentors to help balance it out? Sage Single Moms Kenyata and Patricia will discuss this with Mentors Boris Ashford and Felicia Fort.

Boris Ashford, is a native of Dunn, NC. Boris attended Fayetville State University where he majored in Psychology and minored in Social Work. Boris joined Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. in the spring of 2008. It was through this established organization that Boris was able to add to his experience of working with the youth. Boris started as a volunteer with the Boys & Girls Club of Cumberland County in 2008.  In mid-June 2016, Boris decided to end his 7 year career with the Boys & Girls Club to start his organization MenT.O.R. MenT.O.R. stands for: Men Teaching Others Responsibilities. To date, Boris has been MenTORing the youth for 16 years.

Felicia Fort is the author of her new published book- The Mentor Model : Tools to Building and Sustaining a Healthy Mentor-Mentee Relationship Long-Term. She is a philanthropist, entrepreneur and a mathematician, a dedicated leader, mentor to six youth and young adults, and a mentee to several professionals. Felicia runs a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization called, One Step Closer Foundation, Inc. with a mission to create employment opportunities, limit educational debt and strengthen academic achievement for all individuals who aim to move One Step Closer toward the next big thing that awaits. Felicia is a careered professional, where she is the Vice President of Business Operations for the Coalition for Nonprofit Housing and Economic Development (CNHED) and is an adjunct professor at Trinity Washington University. Felicia lives by the following mantra, "The more you know about how to make your dreams real, the closer you are to fulfilling them."
