As mothers, SINGLE mothers, our first instinct is to put our children’s needs before our own. We let time go by year after year without our annual check-up. We talk ourselves out of looking into the reason why we haven’t been feeling right for the last week or so. We brush off the coughs, the lump or knot that wasn’t there before and just plain ignore all the signs. It’s so heavy on our minds that our children has some kind of practice or a game but the reality is that there is no one to get them there but you so once again taking care of YOU will just have to wait. What if you don’t have another day or two to wait? In the end, where would that leave your family? Who would take them back and forth to practice and cheer them on at games then? This week’s The Real with Sage Single Moms will discuss prevention and early detection of medical issues and having to cope with them while raising your children on your own.

Who is our special guest Anita Jeter-Peterkin? Anita's mission is to inspire, motivate and ignite women to take section and capture their dreams when life has thrown them a curve ball or two. Anita shares how her dreams and a tragedy collided, causing her to almost put her life and dreams on hold indefinitely to start and own her own business. But by the grace of God and inspired action Anita has captured many of her dreams. Anita is an author, speaker and entrepreneur.
