Something Better, Mo Betta, from victim to vocalist, Liss'n or U B a Miss'N

I took to the streets and found comfort and safety from the fellas on the corner. Their protection seemed just a little bit more tangible thus making it a little bit more real. So I joined the neighborhood gang and started to sell drugs, gang bang, and just simply got involved very early in dangerous crime activity. This behavior allowed me to get further involved with the streets taking me on a very dark and evil road where I took a turn that would take me to prison, shootouts, behave like an animal, witness 9/11, and experience the death of my daughter Layla Mari. The death of my daughter I felt at the time was so painful that it made me mentally disassociate going inward instead of outward and it caused me to seek something to numb the hurt that I felt not only from the death of my Layla, but of all the pain I had been thru prior as well. I just had to forget, so I turned heavily to substance abuse. I never expected to get as bad as I did, I just couldn't deal with what I felt, so I continued to turn even more into an animal than I had felt I already was. In May 11th, 2006 I believe that Divine Intervention stepped in and rescued me from my nightmare and graced me into the rooms od Recovery. It took 2 years for me to let go of the lifestyle (though clean and sober) and after having faith in a Sponsor and being guided by him and doing work, my heart one day was warmed at my Church in Brooklyn and I excepted the Lord Jesus Christ on June 27th 2010 and my life has never been the same!
