WHEELS makes sense for this show - We'll be talking to the folks at the Davenport West Bike Project about the project , the upcoming Bicycling Forum and how bikes can save the world. Dr. Bernhard will be on hand too to talk about his love of bicycles and why they are so healthy. He also has a crazy bike from Denmark...I want to talk about that a bit too.
And the beautiful photograph for this week's show is by Seattle-based photographer Molly Landreth. And calling the show WHEELS works here too because Molly embarked on a project that wanted to document what it means to be Queer in the USA these days and she covered a lot of the states doing it with her amazing camera. The project - Embodiment: A Portrait of Queer Life in America had a great impact on its subjects and continues to impact audiences wherever and whenever Molly presents the work. A true community builder and at the same time challenging us to think about what community and queer means. Beautiful work. Molly continues to do work both commercially (she photographed Tom Ford!) and has started to do wedding photography. In the states, where I still don't understand why they can't get married, but can. We'll have to ask her. Wheels, on the bikes, on the car, and whatever the journey, I hope ROYNATION is on your map.
