"I Wasn't Strong Like This When I Started Out: True Stories of Becoming A Nurse", is the latest non-fiction collection of stories published by In Fact Books.

We will be discussing the book--and the power of storytelling by nurses--with the editor and several featured authors.

Lee Gutkind (editor) is founder and editor of the literary magazine Creative Nonfiction and has written and edited books about baseball, health care, travel, and technology. He is currently Distinguished Writer in Residence at the Consortium for Science, Policy and Outcomes and a professor in the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication, both at Arizona State University.

Pamela Baker received her MFA in creative writing from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, where she currently works as a nurse. Her nonfiction has been published in The Journal, Bayou Magazine, and Cream City Review.

Patricia A. Nugent is the author of They Live On: Saying Goodbye to Mom and Dad, a compilation of vignettes portraying the stages of caring for and saying good-bye to a loved one. Her work has been published in national professional journals, and she has received awards (including one bestowed by Susan Sontag) for her creative nonfiction essays.
