David S. Rodriguez of Del Corazon Hospice in Santa Fe, NM

Born and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico, David S. Rodriguez graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1976 and began working as a Nursing Assistant in a local nursing home. His nursing career began in 1978 while enrolled in what was then known as the St Vincent’s School of Nursing.

In 1983, he became licensed as a Nursing Home Administrator, and has served in this capacity in three Santa Fe facilities.  

Mr. Rodriguez served as a state and federal inspector, and also as the Director of the Division of Health Improvement, which was the regulatory arm of the New Mexico Department of Health for all licensed health care facilities.

Most recently, Mr. Rodriguez opened a new hospice agency here in Santa Fe, known as Del Corazon Hospice ("From the Heart"). Del Corazon has served nearly one hundred families in Santa Fe since opening in January of 2012.
