ComDef West 2010, February 1-2 in San Diego: Advancing Force Multiplicity. Rights Radio host Dr. Joyce Starr features Northrop Grumman’s unmanned systems with guest Edward A. Walby. Mr. Walby is director of business development for the High Altitude Long Endurance (HALE) systems enterprise, for Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems, a premier provider of manned and unmanned aircraft, space systems, missile systems and advanced technologies critical to our nation’s security. Walby joined the Northrop Grumman Global Hawk team in San Diego, California after retiring from the United States Air Force in October 2002. His last assignment before retiring from the United States Air Force was with the AFC2ISRC at Langley AFB, Virginia, where he headed the Sensors and Platforms Division for all Air Force surveillance and reconnaissance systems. A graduate of Air War College, Air Command and Staff College, and the University of Southern California, Walby holds master’s degrees in aerospace engineering and strategic studies. He has over 4,500 flight hours in various aircraft with 150 of it in combat in the U-2. His military awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medial, Legion of Merritt, and the Bronze Star.
