Tonight marks the 87th MLB All-Star game between the AL and NL. The winner of the game secures home field advantage for their representative, in the World Series. The game will be played at Petco Park, the home of the San Diego Padres, but the American League will be considered the home team, since the 2015 MLB All-Star game was played at Great American Ballpark, the home of the NL Cincinnati Reds.

In a classy move, MLB announced that the batting titles will be named after two MLB greats. The AL batting title will be named after Rod Carew, while the NL batting title will be named after Tony Gwynn.

After the mid-summer classic, it will be a matter of weeks before the NFL opens training camp. The Green Bay Packers officially start practice on July 26th, at 8:15am. The Packers will have an extended traning camp playing in five pre-season games. They have been selected to participate in the preseason game in Canton, Ohio as Brett Favre will be inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame. Their opponent will be the Indianapolis Colts, and former coach Tony Dungy and player Marvin Harrison will also be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
