Major League Baseball is one the only league that holds its draft in season. With the college and high school seasons coming to an end, it is time for the scouts to find the next All-Star. Tonight, rounds one and two will be completed. With the first overall pick, the Philadelphia Phillies selected Mickey Moniak, an outfielder from La Costa Canyon High School. Three of the first four picks were high school students, with the lone college player being Nick Senzel, of Tennessee. The Cincinnati Reds selected the Junior third baseman with the second overall pick. The Milwaukee Brewers selected the second college player, by taking Corey Ray, a junor outfielder from Louisville. Ray was a 33rd round pick of the Seattle Mariners, in 2013, but he declined to sign. Ray brings a combination of speed and power to the outfield position, and many scouts believe that he could play center field, even though he played right field in college. What are your thoughts on the Brewers first round draft pick? Listen in can call us with your thoughts.
