With the 2010 hip hop awards recently airing on BET, Hip-Hop continues to be a powerful genre of music that was once written off by some as a fad that would eventually disappear. But has the music hit a creative and moral lull? Some of the biggest rappers in the business such as Rick Ross, Young Jeezy, T.I. and Gucci Mayne all proclaim to be ex-drug dealers and brag about living the lifestyle of the "trap" but without any of the consequences. How much of their stories are truth and how much are tall tales that are used to entertain the masses? What about kids who make up a large percentage of the audience who are not able to distinguish fantasy from reality? Are rappers misleading the youth by glorifying and romanticizing elements of the gritty streets without explaining the real consequences of engaging in criminal behavior? Has hip-hop devolved from the 80's and 90's or is it progressing with the times? RealTalkNation examines the current state of Hip-Hop music and welcomes special guests Dee Barnes & Rose Almight T. from the early 90's group "Body N Soul".
