Happy Cinco De Mayo! Here at the Psychic Funhouse we love to celebrate! We also like to know meanings behind celebrations. Did you know, Cinco De Mayo is not Mexico's Independence Day (that's September 16th)? Nor is it the Official Day Of Getting Snockered On Bucket-Sized Margaritas! It's actually a good day to stop and consider your relationship to adversity and how you deal with (almost) certain defeat. You see, back on the original Cinco De Mayo in 1862, The Mexican army faced off against The French army in a little town called Puebla, Mexico. The odds were against them, but they still fought bravely against what was considered a superior force. And surprise! They won! How many times in your life have you felt like you were facing impossible odds, but you didn't stop? This is the deeper message of CInco De Mayo we can all be inspired by.
