Noon Saturdays, Eastern: "The Resilient Brain," host Kathy Kitts
Today we have an awesome guest joining us! Mary Schlesinger, from Fairfax, VA, and an affiliate of the Amen Clinic, joins us to describe an unusual way to think about helping people with learning challenges, PTSD, autism, ADHD and other learning challenges. Believe it or not, the power of rhythm is primordial, it goes back to our beginnings as humans. Some think we used our voices and hands for our first rhythm instruments, singing, clapping, slapping hands on our laps, etc. Our bodies have internal rhythms of many kinds: our hearts beat normally at 1 beat per second. So I think it's natural that one can use that to make people feel better, and maybe more! Singing upbeat songs, even humming tunes can make us all feel better, right?
So let's hear Mary tell us more! We go live today at 9:30am, and repeat our broadcast at our normal time of noon. Please tune in!
Every Saturday, hear about the latest techniques for improving your own brain power at any age, from babies to centenarians!
