At the age of ten, Mark was introduced to his first platform by his sister, Marjory. A salon beautician who wanted to provide entertainment for her waiting clients, she encouraged her brother to be funny. With boldness and confidence, Mark set out to make his audience laugh with jokes, pranks and animated antics. His following grew and salon patrons came to see Mark perform beyond their scheduled hair appointments. During his college tenure at the University of Mississippi, Mark led Bible study. One Sunday evening in March 2006, instead of Bible study, Mark performed in front of forty students and professors. After a standing ovation and encouragement from his audience, Mark considered a career in comedy. Under the tutelage of his uncle, civil rights activist and comedian, Dick Gregory, he officially launched his comedy ministry. Mark further honed his craft and drew inspiration from nationally-known comedian, Vince Morris. Mark has ministered at schools, churches and family events. He has opened for national comedians including Keith Bender and Small Fry as seen on HBO and Comic View. Mark continues to develop his laid-back comedic style, quick wit and creativity to create a presence as a gifted comedian. www.markgregorycomedy.com
