Cece Miller from paws4vets will be our guest, and we will be talking about the value of service dogs for our veterans with PTSD and the role they play in providing support and healing for our combat veterans.

The paws4vets program, a part of paws4people, specializes in placing psychiatric service dogs with veterans and service members with psychiatric or emotional diagnoses as a result of PTSD and/or TBI.

Cece Miller is a certified assistance dog trainer and program manager for paws4vets in South Carolina.  Her brother, 1st Sgt. John R. Champion, Jr. suffered from chronic complex PTSD.  He committed suicide in July, 2009.  Cece will be sharing about her brother’s PTSD symptoms and the events that led him to the point where he isolated himself, shut down, and eventually took his own life. She will share how all of this led her to create the Sgt. John R. Champion, Jr. Memorial Fund (JCM Fund).
