Topic for Discussion: Dr. Tilahun Yilma on vaccines and zoonotic infections. Dr. Tilahun Yilma is a world renowned virologist who is credited with developing the vaccine for rinderpest. He is a professor of Virology at the University of California, Davis with dual appointment at the schools of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Tilahun’s research work focuses on the development of recombinant vaccines and rapid diagnostic kids for viral diseases. He is the receipient of numerous honors and awards including membership in the prestigious National Academy of Sciences and has been cited in the Who’s Who of the West. Dr. Tilahun has received multiple awards for excellence in research and recognition as outstanding faculty.
