The old saying is 'a crew can't win the race but they can certainly lose the race'.  The phrase has been used so much it's on the verge of becoming a cliche.  Thing is, it's true.  All too often a racer finds him or herself scrambling for crew last minute, grabbing family members, friends or whomever they can find regardless of personality or experience.  We're joined today by long time ultra racer and now long time crew chief Kevin VanDyke.  Kevin has run the gamut crewing for race winners as well as those eking out an official finish.  As part of our fall race series we'll discuss some key points on who and what to look for in a good crew member.
