Marissa Alexander faces 20 years in prison for Standing Her Ground. Her husband beat her many times and while and in defending herself from one more beating, Alexander fired a warning shot into the ceiling.

That shot saved her life. However when she was accused of assault, the court did not grant her protection under  the FL Stand Your Ground defense. 

 

Today in a sentencing hearing she faces going to prison for 20 years.  We will hear from Marissa as she tells her story.
