Neco Hawkins, not unlike many young men in the Cincinnati Public School system, was placed in and out of facilities and forced to be a trial experiment for how well the psychotropic drugs he was placed on, would “do the most good.” In looking at one of the medications, the side effects ranged from paranoia, hallucinations, insomnia, vomiting, nausea, headaches, blurred vision, restlessness, drowsiness, tremors & dizziness. This is just one of the medications Neco was taking. He also was taking Ritalin.

Ritalin (methylphenidate) is a central nervous system stimulant prescribed for treating narcolepsy(uncontrollable sleepiness), and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). whose common side effects of Ritalin include:
Psychosis, Nervousness, Agitation, Anxiety, Insomnia, Stomach pain, Loss of appetite, Weight loss, Nausea, Vomiting, Dizziness,Palpitations,Headache, Vision problems,Increased heart rate,Increased blood pressure,Sweating,Skin rash,
Numbness,Tingling, or Cold feeling in your hands or feet

The viewer is walked through the story from the victim’s side, and the police side. We do not see Neco until he is actually arrested and charged. When I saw him, I did not see a murderer, as the media had described. I saw a child. a child, who was trying to still be strong in his appearance, but when you look at his face, you see how young he is, how he shakes his head and holds his head down as if he is thinking a mile a minute, and then I heard him say, “Did he have any kids?” That’s when I knew he had no idea of the enormity of his actions. And most of all, I saw a person who showed immediate remorse. At 16, Neco Hawkins was over as a child. At 16, his actions had caused the death of another person. At 16 Neco Hawkins, according to the law, became a man.
