Two Sides to the Tenure Reform/Teacher Evaluation Discussion

In New Jersey, proposals to reform teacher tenure and change the way we evaluate teachers are being advanced like never before.  Initiatives being discussed in Trenton would alter how teachers attain and retain tenure, while teacher-evaluations models are being developed that would tie part of an educator’s performance to student achievement. However, these changes are not without debate. Please join Ray Pinney, host of Conversations on New Jersey Education, as he interviews twopeople with different perspectives on education reform.  One guest will be Joseph Cheff, a longtime public school teacher from the Paterson School District, and president of the Passaic County Education Association. The other guest is Laura Waters, a school board member who writes an education blog, “NJ Left Behind,” and a contributing columnist for several other news sites.  This program is designed to provide insights into the various concerns and hopes of education reform.
