Let’s just say Michael Greenblatt is not your ordinary fitness trainer. While working as a trainer at Monmouth University from 1993-1999, he began training soccer star Christie Pearce-Rampone, captain of the US Women's National Soccer Team and winner of Gold Medals at the 2004, 2008, and 2012 Summer Olympics. Michael also worked as a Fitness Supervisor at Princeton Univ from 2000-2001, and there he trained All-American 10-meter platform diver Danielle Stramandi. Under Michael's training, Danielle became a member of the US Women's National Diving Team in 2001. During his career, he has trained over 200 high-profile athletes and celebrities. Michael has also trained at New York Life, CNBC-TV and Johnson & Johnson. Not your ordinary trainer, right?
Michael is also an actor and model and appeared in fitness scenes on All My Children with Susan Lucci (Erica Kane). He also trained Rhea Perlman (Carla) of Cheers fame. He appeared in 5 movies including A Beautiful Mind with Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connelly, Rear Window, Deep Impact, Bedtime Stories and The Yards. From May 1992-March 1994, Michael held the title of Mr. New Jersey. He is a Staff Judge for the Miss America Pageant, having judged Miss New Jersey America Preliminary Pageants since 1994. In 2006, the NJ Council on Physical Fitness and Sports published Get Fit New Jersey, and Michael wrote a chapter on Circuit Training.
And then there’s Roadrunner the Cat, Michael’s running companion since 2008. There’s a great story about how Michael found her and they adopted each other. Typically cats don’t run along with humans, but you’ll see that Roadrunner is not a typical cat, and has achieved international fame for her uncanny running ability. Don't miss this interview!
