If you’re familiar with the Jersey Shore music scene, you’re probably already familiar with Layonne Holmes. I first heard her sing at one of Bobby Bandiera’s Rock and Soul concerts at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank. And then there she was with Tim McLoone and the Shirleys. And Holiday Express. And The New Standard Jazz Quintet. You get the picture: this lady gets around musically! Among Layonne’s latest accomplishments is co-founding The Motor City Revue. In fact they have a CD coming out and an upcoming Release Party.

Layonne Holmes is a vocalist with range from funk and soul, to jazz and blues and rock & roll. She is obviously comfortable in all genres and is equally at home on stage in front of a live audience as well as singing in the studio. Additionaly, Layonne has shared the stage with Beth Nielson Chapman, Phoebe Snow, Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, Darlene Love, Southside Johnny, and Gary US Bonds, among many others. She and her mother, the late Dolores Holmes, backed Bruce Springsteen on the internationally-televised 9/11 Tribute to Heroes Telethon and appear on the album of the same name. Layonne, you’ve got what it takes! I'm a huge fan and can't wait for this opportunity to speak to Layonne. After the interview, please visit After Hours at Jersey Coastal Live for additional information.
