In recognition of National Disabilities Awareness Month, Nella-Joi Nation will be sharing stories about people, programs and services designed to help families of children and adults with disabilities. On today's show, we will speak with Wanda Lewis, community relations advisor for all of metro-Atlanta for Dignity Memorial, North America’s largest provider of funeral, cremation and cemetery services.
Not a pleasant topic, but the fact is that parents of children and adults with developmental disabilities have many concerns when it comes to caring for their loved ones, and planning for every aspect of their lives is a way of life for these families. Those concerns also extend to what to do about end of life decisions. Dignity Memorial is one company working to help make those decisions less worrisome, less painful and less costly, by helping to educate families and caregivers, through a series of lunch and learn forums, on why and how preplanning of final arrangements can bring peace of mind.
