Dr. Holzman is the author of the Foundation’s series: Public Education and Black Male Students: A State Report Card and numerous related articles, speeches and op-ed pieces.Michael Holzman is an independent consultant and writer. He has served as a consultant to the Rockefeller Foundation on literacy and work, to the Panasonic Foundation on school reform, and to the Schott Foundation for Public Education, for which was responsible for the Foundation’s series Public Education and Black Male Students:  A State Report Card and a report on opportunities for learning in American public schools.  He has written a report on childhood homelessness for the National Center on Family Homelessness and a report on community schools for the Bruner Foundation. His blogs on education appear on the Black Star, Dropout Nation and Daily Kos websites. He has been interviewed on National Public Radio, New York City NBC Channel 4, WVON Chicago, Milwaukee Public Radio and on other media.
