12-8-09 Blue Stone Project_II: Gary Rasmussen_Aaron White_Billy Adams Blue Stone Project II ( http://www.myspace.com/bluestoneproject )is an amazing folk/rock band who's members have incredible talent between them. They have a new release on Dogma Records. Here is some background information on the Blue Stone Project II CD featuring Aaron White,Gary Rasmussen, and Billy Adams : Aaron White has been a longtime Canyon Records recording artist putting out albums under the name,Burning Sky that were basically traditional Native American music. He earned a Grammy nomination in 03' and won a Nammy the same year. Aaron has recorded nine CD's, Blue Stone Project I being a Canyon Records release. Gary and Aaron with the help of drummer Billy Adams recorded the Blue Stone Project II CD, under the Dogma Records label. They debuted the release of the Blue Stone Project II CD in June of 2009 at a return visit for a triple performance at Eiteljorg’s Indian Museum in IN. Over the past forty six years Gary Rasmussen has been a staple on the Detroit music scene. Gary was living and working with the band, The Up, at the now famous Hill Street Estates with The MC5 and Iggy and the Stooges.Gary’s past bands have played with acts such as Jefferson Airplane, John Mayall, John & Yoko, Alice Cooper, Sun Ra,The Brats, ZZ Top, Savoy Brown, The New Yardbirds (actually the first gigs of Led Zeppelin), Johnny Winter, Patti Smith, The Cream, and so many other top acts too numerous to mention. Billy Adams is the drummer of SPONGE who has been a long time national act with several CD’s to their credit: www.spongetheband.com . Sponge received massive airplay on radio stations from coast to coast and were in heavy rotation on MTV. After their "Rotting Piñata" went Gold, the band toured internationally, sharing the stage with Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, and Live.
