Tonight's special guest is Mike Tikkanen from Hopkins, Minnesota, a returning NAASCA family member. Mike runs 'Invisible Children', a non-profit action tank that supports the people, policies, and programs that improve the lives of at-risk children.  He knows all the statistics of child abuse. On tonight's show Mike will review a recent high profile investigative report on children murdered by their caregivers while in child protective services. The COVID pandemic has kept many children locked in violent and toxic homes with no escape or access to teachers and other mandated reporters to help them escape violent homes to find safety and healing. About 12 million American children are reported to child protective services annually. Without help, traumatized children grow up with mental health and behavior problems and dysfunctional lifestyles. Mike is a founder of Kids At Risk Action, a nonprofit supporting the people, policies and programs that improve the lives of at-risk children. Mike is a keynote speaker (including the United Nations in NY) and is the author of many newspaper, online  articles & the book 'Invisible Children: Pre-Teen Mothers, Adolescent Felons, and What We Can Do About It'. He shines a light on the lifelong impact the traumas of child neglect, abuse and violence is having on children.
