Joey Stucky: the legendary blues guitarist, composer, producer

Joey Stuckey is an award-winning guitarist, songwriter, singer, composer, producer, radio and television personality, music columnist, educator and sound engineer. He is also the official music ambassador for his home town of Macon Georgia. And he does all of this even though he is blind. Joey's guitar style is reminiscent of rocker Jeff Beck and jazzer Wes Montgomery, while his vocal influences range from Mel Torme to Gregg Allman.

As an infant, Joey lost his sight and sense of smell as the result of a brain tumor but fortunately he was introduced to music from an early age as his mother enjoyed opera, and his dad enjoyed country music.  "I lived for my shows on Saturdays," says Joey. "I was a huge fan of public radio and on Saturdays, I listened to a show called, 'After Space' DJ'd and produced by Rob Thomas who would play radio shows like, 'The Lone Ranger,' 'The Shadow,' and other classics. The show was produced so eloquently that Joey decided that sound production was what he wanted to do with his life, which turned into a life-long passion. But he eventually realized that his medium was music.

He took classical guitar lessons and then studied jazz guitar, released several locally and regionally acclaimed  albums, and saw national success with the launch of 'Mixture,' which reached #9 on the CMJ Top 40 Jazz Charts for North America. He tours nationally, having opened for major bands including Ted Nugent, B ad Company, Trisha Yearwood, James Brown and many others.  Working as a producer, composer, music columnist, sound engineer or hired musician, Joey has worked with musical greats including Alan Parsons, Bonnie Rait, Natalie Cole and many others. His live shows are electric and hius albums sweep the South and now the US.
