"Joyous Word"

Leah McBride spent most of her life in group homes and foster homes due to her mom's drug addiction. Leah came from such a painful past that laughter was her only medicine! Leah was silly all of her life and voted class clown in high school! Ironically, Leah wanted to be a singer at first, and not a comedian! In 2006, Leah met Dave Chappell at a Waffle House in Columbus, OH and it changed her life! When she told her father, they both agreed she should try comedy!

Leah gave it a try at the Funnybone in Easton Mall and never looked back! However, when her father died on 07-07-07, she stopped comedy and couldn't find a reason to smile, let alone make others do the same! Leah met a comedian that has since became her mentor and she has been back on stage for the last 2 years straight! Leah performs at colleges, churches, clubs, arenas, etc. Leah will show up and show out ANYWHERE!!

Leah also has 2 college degrees and graduated from college with a 3.8. The greatest part of this comedy is that I can take all of the bad things that happened to me and make them funny! God blessed me with this gift and I thank him for it daily! I would probably still be doing drugs if it wasn't for comedy! I know people say that comedy only causes you to be around others that do drugs but I know I have a choice, and I choose to LIVE!!!
