Born and raised in the crime capital of Israel, May Golan is a patriotic social activist who emerged as the voice and symbol of hope for the people of impoverished South Tel Aviv. May Golan is the Founder and CEO of the Hebrew City NGO.

In 2012 May wrote a much acclaimed weekly blog - "Life According to May" - about her daily life that provided a startling insight into the true fear and dark reality of a young woman's fight for daily survival in the lawlessness of South Tel Aviv.

In her determined battle for public awareness of the brutal crimes committed by illegal infiltrators in South Tel Aviv, May created one of the most powerful social media networks in both English and Hebrew. May's successful online campaigning forced the mainstream media to start covering the previously ignored harsh reality.

May is a frequent contributor in the media, radio and on television both on the subject of illegal infiltrators and social issues, as well as a political panelist on television. May has also featured on the cover of Haaertz, Globes, Maaariv and others, and been interviewed in English on i24News, the BBC and US Radio Stations. May also writes in English, most recently for Israel National News, Arutz7.

To celebrate Israel's 66 years of Independence, Haaretz chose May as one of "66 Israeli Women You Should Know" and Time Out Tel Aviv named her as one of the "Most Influencial Tel Avivians". Channel 10 chose her as one the most influential Internet figures in Israel in a televised ceremony at the Israel President's Office alongside the CEO's of Facebook, Checkpoint and other public figures.

May leads her Hebrew City NGO in fighting local and national Government, and the Supreme Court to take responsibility for the conditions forced upon the people of South Tel Aviv by the effects of their policies of mass illegal immigration.
