Hard Charge Obstacle Race and Ian Sharman

First up is Lindsay Babb with Hard Charge. They are a new obstacle race with two very unique twists. First, they are bringing their events to parts no one really has before in North Dakota, Iowa, and Kansas. Second, they have a deal with local tv stations to air the elite heats. They will be exciting to watch over the coming months.

Next, you will hear a phone conversation I had with Ian Sharman. If you are a fan of ultras, you know that Ian ran one of the fastest 100 milers ever back in 2011.  Ian was in Nicaragua but had to pull out of the race due to injury. However, he did RD and run the first Fuego y Agua Beer Mile. As it turns out, he is also a fan of OCR and plans to run an obstacle race in 2013. We talked about how ultra runners and obstacle racers are equally nuts and have more in common than they think. I also asked him about the record he holds in fastest marathon dressed as Elvis.
