After reading the book ACRES OF DIAMONDS by Russell Conwell, I am convinced we are all leaving the diamond mines in our own backyards as we travel around the world looking for larger diamonds, when in fact the diamonds we seek are found within us and our hometown, from whence we came. Therefore, we are calling the podcast, #IAMRIVIERABEACH.
Today's Guest: Cinthia Becton

Hyacinthia “Cinthia” Becton retired from the Palm Beach County School District May 2000 after 32 years of teaching. During these years, she was involved with the Teachers’ Associations at the local, state, and national levels. Cinthia also served in various community education activities. Furthermore, Cinthia was elected to the Riviera Beach City Council in 1990. While on the Council, she started a School Community Collaboration. This Collaboration involved the city leaders, principals, various agencies, and the school district area administration.

Cinthia served for over twenty years at St. George’s Center, Inc. first as the Program Director with the youth and later as the Executive Director. She is currently on the Board of Director of the Center and is a volunteer. Cinthia is involved in several community organizations Trustee of the City of Riviera Beach General, Employee Pension Board, to name a few. Cinthia has been able to extend her effectiveness in the community by working with people and organizations who are also involved in positive activities. She knows we can not be all things to any given situation, but if we help each other more services can be provided.
