MMWHP Presents Carissa Miller, Founder of Kids Protecting Kids

This week we welcome Kids Protecting Kids founder Carissa Miller to the show.

Carissa  went from a lonely, sad little girl covered in shame, who started cutting herself at age 11, with thoughts of suicide; to someone who has watched her life transform right before her eyes. 

She says if she can do it, anyone can, they only need love, support and encouragement. and she will share her own story of abuse and what she did to not only come through it and thrive but where she found the inspiration to help others through her organization.

That is where she wants to help fill in some voids and help children rebuild their lives like her mom and others helped her rebuild her own.

Carissa feels that having a summer camp dedicated to CSA survivors would be a wonderful way to help children rebuild their lives and help them understand they are not alone. 

All they need to do is take the first step and her organization will walk with them. 

Carissa says "It is a very hard journey, but one worth fighting for, because you are fighting for your life"
