What is wisdom?

I will talk with Laura Ward and her partner Tom Mendola about their life in Tucson, AZ.

Laura is a native of Tulsa with Cherokee and Osage descent, and resident Tucsonan for eight years.  She has dedicated over 20 years to the human potential, studying new thought, communication / core connections, wellness, and applies these concepts to her practice as Director of Internal Audit at Vantage West Credit Union.  As Distinguished Faculty, at the Institute of Internal Auditors, she facilitates leadership and communication seminars across the country.  She has studied yoga with Kundalini expert Jeanne Long.   She is a singer / songwriter, releasing several CD’s to radio, and loves the creative process. Laura has appeared with the Black Man Clay Show, where the group won the “Best Hometown Video” in the country.    She and Tom Mendola are co-creating a series of seminars focusing on “workshops and shareshops” to promote understanding human core communication tendencies, harmony and wellbeing.  Laura’s music video, “Oklahoma on Her Mind,” appears on www.lauraward.org.

Tom is father to 4 boys and a Tucson resident since 1972, engaged in the process of community.  He has a background in biology, philosophy, and environmental psychology, and is President of the Tucson Peace Center, a Core Team member of Sustainable Tucson, sits on the Ethics Committee for Tucson Medical Center, and is an advisor to Terra Sante Village Community and Harmony & Health Foundation. Tom has been a student and teacher of yoga for the past 20 years, and has benefitted greatly from studying the world wisdom traditions (i.e. The Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita).   His passion is cultural change as a reflection of the evolution of human consciousness. He believes humanity is poised on the edge of peace, sustainability, and compassionate joyful living.
