I will discuss the nature of privacy in the 21st century.

On one hand, we complete expose ourselves through Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Blogging, Blog Talk Radio, and other social networking technologies. We don't think twice about giving corporations and government agencies information about us.

On the other hand we are paranoid about secret government programs collecting our information and potentially using it against it. We are concerned about companies using our information to seduce us into buying things we don't really need because they know our psychological triggers.

We live in the era of Big Data, which is another way of describing living in the giant computer simulation portrayed in "The Matrix."

I will argue that if you are spiritually enlightened such that you have only love in your heart and you feel oneness with every person you meet, you have no need for privacy because you already know all the intimate details of every person you meet. if, in contrast, you are not spiritually aware and you are surrounded by people who physical or emotionally abuse you, then you need privacy to survive.

Privacy matters now only because we are not yet spiritually enlightened. Once we become enlightened as a human race, we will no longer need or desire privacy.
