Who isn't sick of holiday commercialism? Christmas decorations go up before Thanksgiving, and who has time to be thankful when you're camping out in front of Walmart (or some other store) on Thanksgiving day! As opposed to jingle bells, we're hearing jingle sales, encouraging us to overspend while simultaneously being blamed for living beyond our means. If you're seeing red instead of sugar plums dancing in your head, join Marcia McNair, Keith Robinson, and Don Durant as they deconstruct holiday commercialism (a preview of Cafe Long Island's episode 5).

Marcia McNair is the co-author of Sistas on Fire: A Newsical and the author of E-Males: A Novel as well as co-executive producer of the Cafe Long Island talk show. Keith Robinson is an independent filmmaker and co-excutive producer of Cafe Long Island. Don Durant is the owner of Copyman Center and the host of Living, Learning and Sharing on Blogtalkradio. Surprise guest Jeanine Maynard is the co-organizer of the Greater Uniondale Area Action Coalition and can be reached at GreaterUniondaleACC@gmail.com or on Facebook.
